Deerfield Community/Historical Society - corner of Deerfield and Kipling Roads, Deerfield, IL  847/948-0680.  Tours available Sundays 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. from June through September.  Group tours avaible at other times by appointment - call for info.  Site includes Caspar Ott Log House, George Luther House, and Little Red Schoolhouse, with exhibits and artifacts about early settlements in the area.

Lake County Discovery Museum - Lakewood Forest Preserve, Route 176 and Fairfield Road, Wauconda, IL 60084, 847/968-3400.  Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sunday 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays are discount days.  Call for admissions charges; Tuesday is discount day.

Lambs Farm -  14245 W. Rockland Road, Libertyville, IL  60048, 847/362-4636.  Non-profit organization serving adults with mental disabilities.  Facility includes petting zoo, mini-train rides, mini-golf, pony rides, and lots of other fun, educational activities for kids.
